Dolomite
Anyone that recently received their new dapper harness for the 575 kit will have issues with the high beams staying on when the switch is in the low beam position. The switched ground system is why this happens. After a quick look at a 510 wiring diagram and a look at the harness, one thing stuck out like a sore thumb. The diode lead that is in the harness to enable 4 light operation on high beam in switched power systems backfeeds current to the highbeam relay, causing them to be constantly lit. The fix is easy...remove diode to break the connection. I consulted ben from dapper, he says it's perfectly ok to do and won't cause any problems. One additional tip, wrap the two unused stock plugs in some e tape. I had my highs go back to staying lit until I realized the stock highbeam plug grounded its self when I hit a bump. 1 Quote Link to comment
