ratpatrol66
How in the hell could you mistake that for an E-type? Spotted it on the salt as a Z-Car right away! 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
No such thing as a '72 280z. The Z car is a homogenized E type, Corvette and Ferrari. Body design elements were taken from all three (and probably more) There's nothing new under the sun. 1 Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
Yeah, I got a chuckle out of the 72 280z, haha. Didn't know about the "Frankenstein" design elements. I thought I'd get remarks about the paint. Quote Link to comment
HRH
I didn't see that at all, damnit! Don't have picture one of it. Craig, do you know how fast it went? Quote Link to comment
ratpatrol66
Not sure but if you zoom in there is a 175 sticker on the upper drivers window. That means they have their B license and can run 175mph to 199mph. Okay I just got into my program and it's a 1972 240Z powered by a 2400cc Ecotec and runs in F/BFMS F=123 to 183.99ci or 2.016 to 3.014L/Blown Fuel Modified Sports. I'll try to figure out how fast they went... They only ran 165.397 on a 220.626 record? Quote Link to comment
Cardinal Grammeter
That paint is basically dazzle camo which makes it difficult to make out the lines of the car. Plus the big extended wheelbase made it difficult for me - especially with the front aero. Nice to know they made it to the salt and that others here know of the car. Still, no comments on the paint - I'm really surprised. Quote Link to comment
HRH
Classing at Bonneville is weird. It seems the cars just don't matter, it's whatever engine you have vs. what chassis. I still haven't figured it all out. Quote Link to comment
