Hello all,

I have owned my 1971 510 since '76.  Is there a place/site I am supposed to register it as being alive and mostly healthy?

It the last few days the original carb is acting up ,float bowl filling, spilling fuel on hot engine, and I want to replace the carb.

Does anyone know without a doubt which Weber carb is for this L16 engine?  Manual choke.  I'm not much of a car guy and want assurance that i'm getting th right one.

there's an ebay listing for a "progressive with intake adaptor 0161"(Newparts)

another for "performance "0346" (Newparts)

and a weber listing for WK657

anybody have solid, experienced input?

Yes some pics please, and welcome. There are a lot of folks who can and will help you hear. You can get a kit to rebuild the original carb if you want to stay stock. If you want to go with more carb there are the Webber 32/36 dgv and if you want to go even more there are the side draft set up's. Might be best at first to get a kit and just get yours going good again and great on gas. Good luck.

Lots of people can help you in Washington.

I would get the weber DGV 5A as its a manual choke carb.

there was a place called national carb rebuilders or soemthing like that that had stock carbs.

sound like your float is getting stuck(well needle valve) or sinking letting to much gas in.

I think just PM me and Ill take tha 510 off your hands

Cheaper to re-build or maybe just clean the needle valve or set the float height. But if you are set on a weber, get a new 'direct replacement' one from Redline or you'll end up with some POS from a '76 Pinto with 5 previous owners, 340K miles on it and parts missing/missmatched or broke from 3 're-builds'.
