1981 720 no reverse or 5th

I just got this 1981 720 pickup and it drove fine for 3 weeks. Now it doesn't matter running or not i cant put it in 5th or reverse. I started a few days ago. I could turn engine off and get it in reverse. but now nothing. It did have a clutch replaced about 2k miles ago. Atleast thats what i was told. Any suggestions?

Does the shifter even make it into place for 5th and reverse or can you not even move it there?

If all other gears are there and the shifter does move into and through the 5th/rev gate (forward for 5th and to the rear for reverse) then the shift mechanism is ok as far as that point/ It wold seem from the description that the 5th/rev shift rod may be moving but the attached shift fort not. It's held in place with a roll pin. This may have sheared off (easiest to replace) or the fork may have broken.

 

The 5th rev fork is in the rear half of the transmission.

 

 

The hole on the far left is the 5th/rev shift rod hole and itwill be drilled for a roll pin. The other hole is just to allow the very closely packed 2nd/3rd shift rod to pass through.
