I'm back. My new 83 720.

In an attempt to rid myself of an expensive monthly payment for an 07 Tacoma I picked up this beauty.

1983, 104k miles, original paint, original interior, all original engine bay with dealer option A/C and power steering. It feels good to be back in an old Japanese mini truck.

More to come, possibly a build thread.

Z24 are prone to head gasket failures at 100K intervals. Factory recommendation is to re-torque the head bolts every tune up. A monkey can do this. On a cold engine loosen only one bolt at a time and torque to 60 ft lbs. Now do the next one and the next, in any order until done... and you're done. Good insurance. Nice truck BTW and I like the gray.

Thanks for the tip Mike! May have to do that before winter hits.

Tdc, the stripe is cool but it's gotta go. I'm a Pinstriper and wouldn't be caught dead with vinyl on my vehicle. I may do a long silver leaf stripe to replace it.

Sooner the better. Replacing the HG is  or can be reasonably easy, but failure to block the timing chain tensioner and allowing it to fall out ads 4-6 more hours to the job. If you don't know about the chain tensioner find out before starting the job. Re-torqueing is even easier.
