Arkrider410
I'm looking at a set of 15*8.5 with 3.5 backspacing. But will they fit. 1 Quote Link to comment

distributorguy
Is that a trick question? Will they fit? Depends on the truck. Drive the truck to go look at them and install one. 1 Quote Link to comment
Arkrider410
I'm not going cross country to see if they'll bolt on plus truck doesn't run 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
I have 16x8 with no offset, roughly 4 or 4.5 inches of back space (can't remember) fits just fine on my 73. 1 Quote Link to comment
Arkrider410
What's the most back spacing that will fit 1 Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
My stock wheels had 4.5 inches of backspacing. No rub. I'd say that's a safe limit 1 Quote Link to comment

hobospyder
I don't have any slot mags yet otherwise I'd be able to mount them up for you to see. Sorry. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Get your truck running well and on the road, wheels are far down the list of needed things. Is the truck lowered? What tires are you planning? stretched? stock height or 33s? 1 Quote Link to comment
Arkrider410
I know I'm just collecting info right now. It will be lowered.I don't want stretched tires. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Lowering poses a problem if the rim/tire is too negatively offset. The body will come down on it. Fucks the body and cuts a groove all the way round a good tire. Too positive and it rubs the frame or suspension. Good that you're looking at this before buying, many don't. The end up trying to make the car fit their choice in rims. In a way it's like marriage. 1 Quote Link to comment
Arkrider410
Like I said I'm knee deep in another project right now, and I don't want to tear into it (as much as I want to) and lose stuff. 1 Quote Link to comment
distributorguy
Don't buy wheels until you get the suspension at the ride height you want. Why throw money at a stalled project, especially when its likely wasted (meaning they probably won't fit)? I ended up buying 2 sets of wheels for my truck, even though it was already set up at ride height when I measured and installed. Lowering changes everything. It actually changes the offset. Quit wasting time looking at wheels and figure out how to get the truck running and on the road. 1 Quote Link to comment
