datzenmike
I think they are called anti rattle springs. Auto supply stores sometimes have little packets of helpful spare parts like these. Quote Link to comment
hobospyder
buy a hardware kit for the brakes you'll get all new springs. i usually replace everything when i replace the shoes anyways i think you might be able to buy the bleeder tee off rock auto, but i don't think it comes with the bleeders. DanielC
Almost every drum brake setup has the anti rattle springs. You need them. If you need to get them from another car, get four of them, and replace all four on both sides of the front or rear wheels. Drum brakes are self-energizing. The forward rotation of the brake drum helps force or wedge the brake shoe against the drum. You want every thing to be equal side to side, because it it is not, one side will brake harder than the other and when braking, the truck will pull that way, or even lock up one wheel and tire before the other. It was a few years ago, but the last time I got brake wheel cylinders for a 521, I got them from a local Nissan dealer, they had to be special ordered. The Nissan wheel cylinders came with the brake line "Y" connector, the bolt that holds it to the wheel cylinder, and a new bleeder fitting. When you bleed the brakes, you have to let the brake fluid pressure build in the wheel cylinder, and keep the bleeder valve open long enough for the brake springs to again collapse the wheel cylinder, or the air in the cylinder never gets a chance to go out the bleeder fitting.
