jeph
So i took my transmission apart tonight and took a video of what i found out is the problem but i have no clue what im looking at. it seems like the lower gear behind the smaller front bearing is spinning on the shaft a little before catching, my question is, is it splined on the inside and mabey stripped? woodruf key? this video is taken with the transmission in 5th gear notice how much i can spin the input shaft before the output shaft starts to spin https://youtu.be/DxkmNePxMcI Quote Link to comment

jeph
Whats the history on this tranny? it came out of a stock s14 240sx with 140k miles from a old lady and it had a rod knock. Two woodruff keys. 32214-58S61 couple a bux each. Nice! is it possible to press the end bearing off and pull that gear off or do i have to find a way to pull that whole stack out? i literally know nothing about transmissions but im good at everything else lol, this is my 4th transmission and tired of buying them so trying to fix it myself this time. datzenmike
Draw off the counter bearing (bottom) You may have to draw the top input shaft off with top and bottom gears together. 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Yeah that's fuckt. New key ways could be cut but the cost... Unlikely you would ever have to take it apart ever again. Nothing to loose if you were to weld it on solidly in place. It's already out and apart. Quote Link to comment
