NO F'ING RESPECT! WTF????

Recommended Posts

Been daily driving my wagon almost all summer & enjoying every mile...until about 30 minutes ago when I went outside to get something & saw that some f'ing ASSHOLE pulled a hit & run job on my baby!

NO NOTE, NO NOTHING.

Looks like someone's rear spare tire just pushed in the rear hatch & cracked my signal sense too.

It's not creased though. Wonder if a painless dent repair could make it right again?

Totally f'ing pissed!

Anybody have advice for dealing with insurance companies on old Datsuns? I have State Farm & have never had to file a claim with them before.

Next Friday is our local Cruise Night event too...f'ing AWESOME timing! :sneaky:

Angela so sorry for that, as for your question you can try to do a comprehensive claim on it, but with noraml  insurance companys they will screw around due to age of Datsun's. I dont what anyone else says. Try to go through them and if no luck search down the new parts or take it to paint shop to get repaired. If you need help PM me and i willsee what I can do for you.

Just fix it. Push it out from behind and see how it looks. Your deductible is likely higher than the repair cost. Assholes always get their share of shit. This asshole get bachi now. They'll pay. I've had my Z hit, and my goon. Both times I just dealt with it because it was easier. This SUX!!! But if getting hit was in your cards, you got off easy. There's the silver lining for ya. Sorry

There's an old trick that I read about, that sounds like it would work.

Get an old basketball (or another small/medium rubber ball),deflate it,stick it between

the inner & outer tailgate panel,& then slowly,& carefully reinflate it,watching it closely.

So, I've had some time to chill over having my wagon hit...

d-e-e-p      b-r-e-a-t-h-s...

I went ahead & filed a claim so we'll see where it goes (kinda curious to test out my insurance company to see if they will be helpful or resistive). You all gave me some perspective (thank you all for your comments). I'm thinking painless dent or trying to pop it out myself might just be all it needs rather than dealing with the hassles of finding a trustworthy shop & not being able to drive it. I think I was in such shock that I freaked out a little. This is the 1st time I've had an incident in this car since owning it. I realize now I got off damn lucky. Many of you have had much worse.

Thanks guys

This is one of the reasons lots of folks around here stopped driving their classic tin around in general population. Too many idiots with no business being behind the wheel of anything are getting licenses.

The other day I saw an accident that should not have been one. An Suburban almost hit a Mini Cooper, and when the lady in the Mini stopped and honked her horn, the guy in the Suburban just back up and then rammed her car! Back up again and flipped a u turn and hauled ass. Hit and run for nothing. Sadly the idiot got away and I was not able to catch the plates. But, I gave the CHP a good description of what I saw.

Do you have classic car insurance? It helps if you do and start getting proof of what these cars are worth and how much they really do cost now to fix up. Get parts prices off ebay and estimates from good shops.

They will try to low ball you if you have regular insurance and in some cases just try to total the car outright! So be prepared with proof.

Glad the damage was not worse and it can be fixed.

Best O'Luck!

People suck.  Probably some old person or dumb young person who didn't even know they hit it.  Small wagons are hard to see it today's big dick car world.  I constantly worry about my wagon too. :(  Sorry yours got dinged.  At least it's not worse, silver linings.

Easy access to the back side and easy color to match.  It's a tossup. I'de do paintless repair if the price is better and the paint in that area is still in good condition.

Ditch the car insurance and get classic. It's probably cheaper than allstate.

You wouldn't happen to live in sonoma county would you? I had the worst luck with hit n runs there in the 90's

I had State Farm. Had Stanley fixed a couple of times. They deemed him totalled but he was a salvaged car when I got him so whatever. I'm never getting rid of him no matter what the title says. He got fixed and I didn't care. Some dumb ass girl ran a stop sign and hit him. Her insurance had to pay up. If your car isn't already a salvaged title fight for them to not total it if that is a concern of yours. Make them fix it. They total cars for the dumbest things these days. I have Hagerty insurance now cause it's actually a bit cheaper AND they insure'd him for more money. Thankfully haven't had to use them.

Sucks this happened to you girl. I would be livid.
