FrankRizzo
Do you show how you wired them? Speedo is GPS, If you run a dedicated 12V and well as a switched 12V to the speedo, it boots up and finds the satellite in about 3 seconds. Tach is a tach - find + coil wire, water and oil are kind of a pita because you have to use the speedhut senders. On a KA24DE the fuggin water temp sender is 1.25 thread pitch and was a bitch to find an adaptor, but I did...I did not want to put it in the radiator hose. Oil is 1/8" BFST thread but those are fairly easy to find. One thing I learned the hard way this weekend...by removing the stock gauge cluster I removed the factory "charge" light which is one of the things that the internal voltage regulator on the KA Alternator needs to regulate the voltage. Sooooo..I sent ~16 volts to my brand new keyless start module and pretty much let the smoke out. Project next weekend: install lamp in the "L" wire circuit and install new keyless start module. Stupid tax bill: $100. . 1 Quote Link to comment

I think the cable regular speedo is less $$$, but the GPS does cool stuff like 0-60, max speed, time, distance and a bunch of other things I cant remember. . Quote Link to comment
kelowg
Also has signal and hi beam indictors. But on my 521, hi beams make gauges lockup until i cycle ign switch. Gauges do come with gm style sensors, included in pricing. Quote Link to comment
Rokel
So let me start off saying I am a total noob with the 510's. Had one in High school, sold my 68 C10 to build my dream car. Just got a 70 510 this week from James! For now it will be called my 510 Carcus lol. I am looking into instrument panel and gage options. They seem to be like finding most parts for these car's. Is there a company that makes them or is it all custom work? Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The stock dash and gauge cluster and gauges always looks the best. Short of that, is the stock dash, cluster and some after market gauges. Last is a custom everything. What every you can find and afford. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
There are 3 factory gauge setups. 68 has a long wide Speedo, 69+ has 3 openings for Speedo, fuel/temp, and idiot lights or optional tach or clock. Then there is the SSS cluster which i believe has 5 gauges, not sure what they are though. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Only the '68 had the ignition switch IN the dash on the left side of the steering wheel. The '69 and up were all on the steering column. The '68 has horizontal heater control levers, while the '69 were vertical. '68 and '69 gauges are almost identical with horizontal sweep speedometer. '70 was the big change to round pod gauges. The '68 has a dip in the center the dash pad the '69 does not. 1 Quote Link to comment
