q-tip
Don't know if it's been posted but performance distributors is making a d.u.i. distributor for the vg30 engine that eliminates all of the computer controlled stuff. Link: http://performancedistributors.com/product-category/distributors/nissan-distributors/ Kinda spendy but its about the only obtainable option. Quote Link to comment
Jesse C.
That thing looks huge! Glad I go my Nissan one back when they where available and cheap! Quote Link to comment

q-tip
They have non CAS VG30s in Arabia. Those are drying up and pretty damn rare here in the states, not to mention about the same price. And yeah it friggin huge but at least there is some one out there making them. Quote Link to comment
scooter
Will this work on twin cam vg30's? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Will this work on twin cam vg30's? Not even close. ^_^ The real question is will it work in a 510. I'd be a little concerned about hood clearance... :P 2 Quote Link to comment
q-tip
Will this work on twin cam vg30's? Doesn't seem to say anywhere, would need to contact them to find out. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
See this? It's for GM engines. All they did was change the base. Didn't find the price... how much?? Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
See this? It's for GM engines. All they did was change the base. That's so you can buy a cap, rotor, or coil anywhere. ;) All of the guts are interchangeable with generic GM replacement parts. Cheap and easy to get. Most of the bespoke stuff (like the Mallory L-series dizzy) uses special parts you have to buy from the original builder. Not these. Didn't find the price... how much?? Best price Ive found online was $440. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Doesn't seem to say anywhere, would need to contact them to find out. The VG30DE doesn't use a distributor, though. How could it? ^_^ 99% sure they use a CAS/cam trigger to fire the plugs like the other 90+ engines do. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Note the lack of a distributor. The silver thing on the right side of the engine is the CAS (cam angle sensor). Quote Link to comment
scooter
Allright, i couldnt remember and i havint really dabbled with vg30's 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
Here is a VG30 with a stock distributor/cap/wires, they did come with them. The engine was converted over to a modified GM distributor, this is a photo of it in a Datsun L320 with what appears to be a Weber carb. Quote Link to comment
