Roadster-ka
I'm new to ratson.8 years line tech at Datsuns dealer. 32 years service manager. I'd like to address the squall noise when engaging clutch especially cold and especially in trucks and especially in first gear. This syndrome spans multiple years. I apologize if this has been brought to light previously. Bulletin from Nissan, and confirmed by numerous successful repairs, noise emanates from poor lubrication of crank bushing. If I remember correctly, they actually changed the bushings and recommended applying molybdenum lube to the bushings. This syndrome is often misdiagnosed as a worn throw out bearing. Hope this is helpful. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
You mean the pilot bushing??? Never had a problem with them but then I always replace if the transmission or engine is out. Same with the release bearing unless very low mileage since the last change. They are high wear items and hard to get at..... best to replace any chance you get. 1 Quote Link to comment

Stoffregen Motorsports
Vallejo, huh? Is this Ralph's old Roadster with the 12V KA in it? Quote Link to comment
Roadster-ka
Yeah I bought my nephew Ralph's roadster. Had it for several years of autocross fun. Sold it several years ago and have no idea where it is now. Just bought a 510 wagon yesterday. Spent my Sunday working on that. Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
I'm embarrassed that I can't remember your name, though I think I've met you. I used to work for Rebello and Ralph and I were crew mates on Sal Versaggi's 240sx GT3 team. Say hi to Ralph for me. I always liked that roadster. Quote Link to comment
