Noise when engaging clutch NJ

Recommended Posts

I'm new to ratson.8 years line tech at Datsuns dealer. 32 years service manager. I'd like to address the squall noise when engaging clutch especially cold and especially in trucks and especially in first gear. This syndrome spans multiple years. I apologize if this has been brought to light previously. Bulletin from Nissan, and confirmed by numerous successful repairs, noise emanates from poor lubrication of crank bushing. If I remember correctly, they actually changed the bushings and recommended applying molybdenum lube to the bushings. This syndrome is often misdiagnosed as a worn throw out bearing. Hope this is helpful.

You mean the pilot bushing??? Never had a problem with them but then I always replace if the transmission or engine is out. Same with the release bearing unless very low mileage since the last change. They are high wear items and hard to get at..... best to replace any chance you get.
