Steering Wheel Assistance

Recommended Posts

Good afternoon,

I have a question about steering hub adapters. I unfortunately could not afford a true Z car so I settled for financing a 2008 350z. It's been a good car to me as I take great care of it. I am starting to acquire parts for it, I'm trying to do a retro datsun Z inspired build...I'm trying to see if Grant or any other manufacturer makes an adapter to use the vintage Datsun competition steering wheel with my 350z. I tried searching and asked the modern Z guys but it seems that old cars adapting to use new steering wheels is MUCH more common. I could get a momo prototipo and a datsun horn button but I'm looking to go the extra mile with this car. Don't worry, next car will be a true datsun.

Thanks in advance ,

Ted

Hey Ted, most will probably give you crap for a 350Z, but I personally love them and DD my '07.

Do you know the bolt pattern on the front by chance? I'd google it but I'm in the middle of a few things. Works Bell and NRG make hubs for the 350Z that we like to use at Z1. You could probably find a combination that works with a universal adapter ring if necessary.

Also, don't bother asking any modern Z owners questions relating to S30's, most of them have never seen one in person, let alone have any helpful knowledge.

I know a lot of guys do it, but I just can't see myself removing the steering wheel airbag. Especially in a car that I have a higher chance of crashing.

Maybe that feeling of self preservation comes with age. And kids.
