So I guess it is about time I start a build thread.

Picked up a 77 long bed 620 in a twofer deal with a buddy. He got a truck that ran but looked a lot like hammered dog shit. I got a truck that didn't run and just looked like normal dog shit.

The truck was sitting at a buddy's over the winter, which made workin on it some what inconvenient. But I got it AAA'd home and I'm getting shit done.

I'll post some pics in a bit.

Whenever I think that I'm out of my mind for putting this much time and money into an old Datsun, all I have to do is look some of your threads to know that I'm not nearly as whack as you are.

You're going to skin a few knuckles, stand up too fast and bump your head, hunt around the floor for the nuts and bolts you dropped, invent a few new cuss words and when you're finished you'll say "That wasn't so hard after all!"

When I got the truck the ignition switch had gone bad and the previous owner just hot wired the shit

20160524_173742_zpsvbdpkn4b.jpg

So I did this

I know I know. .. a new one is only like 30-40 bucks. But this is more fun.

I'd suggest hiding the killswitch so no one jacks your shit.
Chrome door handles are under rated.

The damn thing sat in this dudes back yard for like 9 years.

So it needs some work. Pretty much anything brakes related needed to be replaced.

Ive done the master, rear shoes, flex lines, and the rear hard lines.

Look at this!

Still to do wheel cylinders and drums.

There will be another switch in the line tucked away somewhere. I have yet to wire it in yet.

Hahaha. That would have saved me 20 bucks.

Edit: I'm still laughing

Found this sitting in the middle of the street. Mocked it up and it fits the curve of the hood perfectly. I'll slap it on eventually.

looks like a late 40's Pontiac "flying lady" hood ornament ... I couldn't find that exact one, but that's looks cool on the 620

I haven't really done anything super impressive with the truck yet, just lots of little shit. And not much is documented other than being crossed off from my cardboard list.

It's off a 46 Desoto. (Made by Chrysler)

Edit: I did a Google search just now. http://www.ebay.com/...4&ul_noapp=true

Now I might have to sell the damn thing if it's worth that kind of money.
