JonSmith720
Fuel won't flow past the needle valve, it's the original carb with electronic choke, I've tested the fuel line next to the carb and it's running 5 psi, I've blown out the filter housing above the valve and still won't flow. If I turn on the pump it will come through the line but not into float chamber. 1985 z24 regular cab Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
You take the needle out and inspect? Did you try hitting the banjo bolt with a screwdriver handle? Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
Yeah I did, I doesn't stick, I've put air through the banjo bolt and it doesn't seem clogged, and I've also put air thru the top of where the needle valve sits and I can feel it flowing through still no fuel getting thru Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
Is the float stuck up? Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
No its resting in a down position with the cover off, it moves freely when pushed up or down Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
Its like the valve in your toilet bowl. maybe needle is stuck closed weather the arm is moved or not. could be rust or dirt keeping it closed Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
How old is the rubber fuel line? No kinks? Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
I've cleaned the valve and it falls out freely when the float is taken out, so I pretty sure it isn't rust or dirt binding it Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
Bagging, I've replaced the rubber hose on the line and it's solid Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
Is the float height at the right adjustment? This just start happening or has it been sitting? Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
The float is at the correct height, it started running real rough so I let it sit for a couple of days, without the valve and float gas pours in the chamber Quote Link to comment
JonSmith720
The original float valve has a little spring rod on the bottom, does anyone know the purpose for it? Quote Link to comment
