Okay I was able to tap the adjuster more towards Center. And the drum will turn a little bit, but the adjuster moves with it. Expletive!

Sorry about all of my numerous posts in the thread. I'm really ADHD and have a hard time with complete thoughts.

The adjuster is supposed to slide freely in the backing plate of the drum. If you can tap it forward enough, take off the drum, clean, lube, put back together. Star wheels can often be disassembled cleaned and lubed. I just did this to all four corners of a 620. I had a couple stiff star wheels I had to take apart by twisting and tapping with them pinched in my vice.

Thank the lord! Also brake is free now.

The 620 has two small tapped holes on the drum between the studs. Get two 10mm head bolts with the correct thread and start them in. They will bottom out on the axle and as you keep turning will pry the drum out and off. Have a care, if the shoes are really clamped on this can will rip the shoes right off as well. Doing this with constant tapping on the drum with a hammer will dislodge the drum, just take your time.

The star wheel adjuster can usually be gotten apart with some heat and some brake lube used to keep it from seizing again.

So turns out that the previous owner snapped off a couple of bolts off in those holes.

I'm liking flatcats beat it with a hammer idea more and more.
