Rear axle hub conversion for cv's?

These catalogs can also be of help. The one called "blank shafts" has all the spline info on just the inner shafts without cv joints.

Meaning you might find you can use x joints on y shaft and build a perfect solution. I was using this when I was researching an s13 IRS swap into my wagon.

Well, I hope someone finds a good donor then.

Paying to have someone shorten them is cheaper than labor.

Yes it is.  B)

I looked into, and unless you are an amazing welder, you will break something. Leave it to the pros.

I am not, but I know a few fellows who are.   ^_^

I've always been told that axleshafts are heat treated, so any welding makes them weaker. That being said, I think for any daily driven car, not performance oriented, could get away with it ok.

Hadn't thought about the heat treating issue.

In my particular case, it would either be an L18 or an L20b with a wee bit of head work. Just a weekend toy that I would perhaps drive spiritedly on occasion, but never launch hard. And I certainly wouldn't have sticky enough rubber to introduce very much shock load into the shafts.

Scooter Stuff, do you remember the length you had it cut down to?

Invoice?

Geo storm shaft with subi ends looks promising.

All of the shafts I picked up today were duds :)

God I wish I had a spare cross member. Would go right into hub swapping, and a 100% bolt in affair!
