MarkB.
Guys, Does anybody know of a modern (say, last few years) temporary spare that will fit a 510 bolt pattern? I'm going to the junkyard next week and would like to know what I'm looking for. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Would have to be 4 bolt pattern that matches a Datsun. Temp spares are a thing of the '80s? They were light cheap and most of all took up less space, so perhaps a 280zx or Maxima. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
The bolt pattern is 4x4.5in or 4x114.7mm Many American cars also use this pattern and most 4 lug Nissan use it. I believe sentras might be the exception and use a smaller pattern. Take a tape measure and just measure away. Also be aware that hub bore matters, but datsun ran a pretty small one, so most stuff should clear that. 1 Quote Link to comment
shacks510
I have one from a 240sx. Clears ZX brakes. Most space saver spares are the same wheel used in a wide range of cars. I always see them laying around the junkyard. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Guys, Does anybody know of a modern (say, last few years) temporary spare that will fit a 510 bolt pattern? 2007-2013 Nissan Versa. I use them all the time for taking cars to the paint shop... Quote Link to comment
INDY510
The bolt pattern is 4x4.5in or 4x114.7mm I think you mean 4x114.3 Quote Link to comment
MarkB.
Awesome! Thanks guys. Nissan Versa spare. I'm sure I can find one of those. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Awesome! Thanks guys. Nissan Versa spare. I'm sure I can find one of those. FYI the 4 lug Sentra from the same era uses the same spare, as does a Nissan Cube. Quote Link to comment
dukerollo
I got a pimp ass aluminum temp spare from an early FC3s RX7. It took me a minute to find one at a reasonable price, but I think it's cool as hell. It clears my brakes too. Quote Link to comment

I'd like to see how it compares to my steelie space saver. The tire on mine is a 125/70/15; Yokohama, too! Quote Link to comment
thatdirtykid
4 lug accord is 4x114.3 as well. No other 4 lug Hondas are. You should be able to google 4x114.3 cars and find a pretty comprehensive list. Quote Link to comment

The tire on mine is a 125/70/15; Yokohama, too! It's pretty feathery, I'll try to throw it on a scale in the next couple days. The schedule is kind of hectic lately. Edit; Fuck it, there is always time to help a fellow Ratsuner....21.5lbs with tire on my fancy digital scale. What does the steelie weigh? Quote Link to comment

I don't think it weighs that much more, but I haven't touched it since I got it. Quote Link to comment

datsunfreak
Hm, front drag wheels  Actually, a few of the rotary-powered 1200 guys I know do use these for front drag wheels. ^_^ The smart ones change the crappy "low speed" tires out for M/T front runners. ;) Quote Link to comment
thatdirtykid
Except the Prelude. And the Acura CL, and Legend. Good to know. I didnt know about the Prelude, also I never really think of acura. Not much of a honda fan. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Not much of a honda fan. Me neither, I just try to keep a mental note of all the cars that have a 4x4.5" bolt pattern. Also, S13/S14 240SX. 1 Quote Link to comment

Told myself it was OK because the front of a bug is so much lighter than what they were designed for. Nobody was hurt and never failed. Their speed rating may have more to do with their decreased stopping and handing ability than speed failure. Other things about the bug where probably more unsafe than the front tires. I wouldn't race or daily them today though Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Everything about the bug was probably more unsafe than the front tires. Fixed. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
Also, to add to the list... 4 lug Mitsubishi Lancer Quote Link to comment
dukerollo
280zx had a collapsible spare like an old 911. You have to carry a can of air though. Quote Link to comment
datsunfreak
280zx had a collapsible spare like an old 911. You have to carry a can of air though. It's also very heavy and not very compact. And blows up to the diameter of a 205/70-14 size. Which rubs on a lowered 510. Ask me how I know. B) Quote Link to comment
