awsnap
Been lurking a little on this site a while as I am ready for a 510. My first car was a 2-door 510 (1970?) that I bought for $250. Tricked it out as best as I could as a broke 16 year old. Many muscle cars later started looking at the vintage Japanese world and decided to go for another 510 given all the aftermarket support and parts. I locked in on a 4-door in WA state and am trying to find a decent shipping quote since that is probably the cheapest way to go but feel like there are a lot of scammers in the industry. Anyone have a good experience lately and can recommend someone? The car is in Everett, WA and needs to get to CA, Bay Area. Also car has no drivetrain. Thanks in advance! Quote Link to comment

Seeker > 620 KC
Why risk shipping your new found treasure with someone you don't know? I rented a Uhaul car transport trailer. Tthey are really nice with chains and tire straps, and they hook it up and test it all, and unhook it. One-way from Stockton to San Diego for $200 (if you reserve in advance.) Loaded a dead Dat using a $20 Harbor Freight ratcheting nylon strap just to see if I could save the price of a come-along. It took a dozen or so bites, using a tire block to keep it from rolling back, and now I don't have a $50 cheap come-along doing nothing in my garage. Towed it behind my Tundra pick up. Make it part of your Datsun adventure Quote Link to comment
demo243
As seeker said - probably best to rent s uhaul. Most transport companies will charge a hefty fee for it not being a runner. But it is a pretty short haul trip. 1 Quote Link to comment
wayno
I used Plymouth Auto Transport to ship a non running car without even an emergency brake from North Carolina to Vancouver WA, it cost me $1700.00 shipped in an enclosed trailer. william@plymouthautotransport.com The guy is a broker, but he is a nice guy also, I have had one vehicle car purchase fall thru, and the first one was delayed, and I didn't get any attitude from him, he just said call me when you are ready. awsnap
Where at in bay area. Im from san jose. Richmond. who in Everett you huying this from? Guy who has multiple cars, dont know if he's a member but I should ask him. I thought about taking the trip and still might, but figured with gas and uhaul it would be about the same cost as shipping. Also my truck is probably not up for the trip. I'll check with Plymouth Auto Transport. Thanks Quote Link to comment
