datsun12 Posted May 28, 2016 Report Share Posted May 28, 2016 I have a l20b motor and I want to install an electric fan but I have little clearance due to the waterpump having a clutch fan. datzenmike Posted May 28, 2016 Report Share Posted May 28, 2016 Most 521/510/620 L16 were just a pump with attached fan. L18s were about the same... we only got the L18 on mostly '74 model cars and truck. 610/710/620 Most L20Bs received the clutch fan to save energy and improve mileage. The '80 720 only had the clutch fan with optional air conditioning. #21010-21026 same as the 510/521/521/610/710 with L16 or L18. You'll have to confirm Nissan part number 21010-21026, but it seems to check out. I just carefully cut the clutch fan off. Just stay away from where the pulley is pressed onto the shaft. Leave 1/8" .
