What size rims can I fit on my 77' B210?

Recommended Posts

I know nothing about rims or tires. Can someone give me a quick lesson on what kind/size of rims I can fit on my 77' B210. I have a 2-door coupe, and I am looking for something simple and clean.  Sick of the crappy stock rims, and even crappier plastic caps. Thanks so much!

FYI, you own a 2dr sedan. This is a coupe

I can tell you exactly what will fit, but let's start with what size you want. 13", 14" or 15"? How low do you plan to go? How flush do you want it to be?

doesn't look like yours have been rolled out at all, are they?

Fronts lips flattened and fenders rolled/pulled maybe 1/4-3/8". Rear lips hammered flat and only pulled a tiny bit, at most 1/4". Hard to go father without some cutting and/or busting the paint...

I honestly went with tires that were too big on the 14s. Some 185/55-14s would have been better, and fit easier. Even a 175/60-14 would have been an "upgrade".

datsunfreak,

Hey, thanks! I thought they were called "coupes" if they weren't "hatchbacks".  Very good to know! I'm just now getting into actually making her look good on the outside.  Mostly spent all these years just keeping her on the road and running clean. SO, on my 2-door sedan, I don't necessarily want to change anything to make the wheels fit, so I'd say 13", but those "14x7 -9 offset with a 185/60-14 tires" look pretty sweet. I definitely don't like the look of the bigger ones (15"). Also, not sure but I guess you're talking about lowering the car.  I have no plans to to that. I don't want to roll any fenders or anything just wanting to get some shiny chrome on those feet of hers.  A guy has some 4 slot mags for sale in classified section. I like them. They are 13x6.  Would those easily fit.  I don't know what size the stock rims are that came on her.

I have 175-70 tires on it now.  How much taller & wider can I go without modifying the wheel wells or fenders?

You need to find out the offset. This is how far in or out the rim will sit when bolted on. If outside the fender, three things.... besides looking retarted, there is a very good chance you will hit a bump and the body will come down on the top of the tire and enough of this will grind a groove all the way round the tread or damage the fender, and last, tires outside the fender throw dirt all over the body.

Do not go higher. This affects your speedometer... reading the speed limit but going faster. If that isn't bad enough the performance drops also as you are in effect raising (lowering numerically) your gear ratio.

Your 175/70R13s are almost perfect for height at 22.65 with stock tires 22.8". You can go wider without going taller but you are already well over 6" wide. A 205/60R13 (if they make them) is 8" wide and 22.69" tall.

Those would be ideal then.

13x4.5.

she's got the 280z 6 star 14x6.5 rims (forgot what the offset was, i know i have it written down at home) and my tires are 185/65R14

Pretty sure the Z rim offset is 0.

Those wheels are a 14x6 +9.

They are quickly becoming super rare, but you can still get them. For now.

Lots of racing slicks in that size, but the only DOT legal versions are the Toyo Proxes...

I think B.F. Goodrich may still make the Radial T/A in that size for Legends car racing (spec tire for that series), but they would have to be purchased from a Legends car parts supplier.
