Newbiedatsun
Hey guys don't know if this has been posted for I am new here was wondering if anyone could give me some leads as to where I could find parts for my 1970 datsun 620 pickup Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Well if it's a '70 truck, it's a 521. If it's a 620 then it's a '73 through '79. So getting the year and model right will sure help. It the parts as still available the Nissan dealer or auto supply stores like NAPA or Rock Auto. Quote Link to comment
racerx
what kind of parts: electrical, engine, body, suspension, rims, tires, tranny? in either case, this site or other Datsun sites, Craigslist, Ebay, car shows/meets, NISSAN dealership, Autozone, Oreillys, other major parts store or stores that specialize in ol skool Datsuns. Newbiedatsun
I've tried the Nissan dealers they dont told me they don't carry any days in parts anymore and sorry I'll have to look again I've never owned a datsun so I don't really know I'm about positive it is a 1970 model tho and I've also called orilleys advanced auto parts and auto zone no one carries datsun parts anymore. datzenmike
The '70 Datsun truck was known as a PL521 so quote this when ordering parts. You have the L16 L series 1.6 liter engine and a 4 speed manual transmission. You haven't said what you are looking for. Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
A replacement engine or the components to rebuild the one I have now. Doors, interior, bed, lights, all that Quote Link to comment
racerx
People on this site have years and years of experience about maintaining our rides and places to get parts but it's difficult to answer ur question cuz we don't know what you are looking for. Quote Link to comment
racerx
It's impossible to find one or 2 places where they sell all Datsun parts. Our rides are like over 45 year old and body parts will be difficult to be found. Start scouring Craigslist, Ebay, other Datsun sites and look under classifieds. You said engine..how do you know you need one? maybe get it rebuild. Body parts again that's a Craigslist or Ebay or get post under want adds on this site or other Datsun sites. Your location? Easier to find stuff in Calif. Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
I'm in Georgia and I'm fairly sure it will need a new engine as it had a burnt valve when parked 19 years ago I haven't had time yet to go look to see if the motor was seized or not. Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
Welcome. Where at in Georgia? Quote Link to comment

bilzbobaggins
Lulz. I got family in Summerville and Rome. You can get parts at the chain stores. Don't take shit off them. Was this truck on Craigslist or something you stumbled across? Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
Na it's an old family truck just finally got my uncle to turn loose of it Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
olddatsuns.com read the tech section all of it multiple times. Maybe a lash pad just fell off under the rocker arm. 7 min fix. Whats the issue? Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
From what I was told it had a burnt valve not real sure of the symptoms it had I was only four at the time but my dad parked it because he didn't have the money at the time to fix it. Quote Link to comment
racerx
Do a search on this site for Service Manuals posted by FauxRoux..tons of stuff about various Datsuns good start to get familiar with our vehicles. Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
Sweet thanks for the help guys Quote Link to comment
racerx
been parked for 19 years..is it registered or non op? You may want to check GA DMV rules. Here in Cali. if parked for awhile and not registered then buyer or seller owes tons of back fees. If non op maybe okay. Also how's the condition of the body, any major rust? I would worry more about the 2 above first before getting parts, that's later once things are okay with your local DMV and body is okay. Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
Pics of truck would help immensely. Quote Link to comment
Newbiedatsun
Na in Georgia they passed an ad velorium tax so when you register a vehicle you only have to pay 10 percent of the cars total value and usually unless listed totaled or other wise it stays registered. I'll have some pictures of it this weekend I have it placed at my parents house for the time being Quote Link to comment

racerx
Also examine the truck really well: tire well, shock towers, floor (lift up the carpet), fenders and undercarriage and so on. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I'm in Georgia and I'm fairly sure it will need a new engine as it had a burnt valve when parked 19 years ago I haven't had time yet to go look to see if the motor was seized or not. A little premature for parts hunting. It's been my experience that most people don't know what they are talking about so until it can be proven by you that the valve is 'burnt' it could be anything or nothing. A badly adjusted valve will act the same as burnt... you can't know for sure. If the valve is bad it's $8 for a new valve and $25 for a head gasket. At the most $50-$100 for an old head (maybe even a case of beer if you find one) Then try running to see if the engine is ok. If not you have a spare head. Body?.... find a parts truck in good body shape and tow home. Swap body parts. High wear items like steering / king pins, brakes, alternator, water pump, clutch hydraulics, exhaust buy new replacement parts from NAPA or w/e. Quote Link to comment
maltese
Call it a Nissan when you go to Autozone, O'Reilly, etc. The electronic catalogs list them that way. Where are the pics??? Quote Link to comment
