finney
Has anyone ever noticed their 520/521 cabs fill up with water when it rains? I was just having a look inside the vented cowl area in front of the windscreen and noticed that the only place that the cowl drains into is the actual cab. Has anyone modified this to drain elsewhere? seems like a weird design, with limited options to allow the water to drain elsewhere but the cab? 1 Quote Link to comment
DanielC
There is a passage that drains water behind the engine, on the transmission. This passage gets clogged up with pine needles and other organic debris. 1 Quote Link to comment

And it is easily accesibly by undoing the 2 screws that hold the drain sheet metal drain cover holding it to the wind screen / front engine compartment sheet metal! 2 screw deriver's twists and you are at least half way there! As to the drain hoses to the outside enviorenment. will leaver that to your imagination, already covered many times and subject to your good sense and a visit to any hose rack at any local aquatic supply store! 1 Quote Link to comment
finney
I realised I had a absolute blonde moment. Background - I had a 520 and the cab used to fill up with water every time it rained, I never really cared about it nor did i really look where it was coming from, the drain plugs worked fine. This afternoon I was looking into the air cowl of my V520 in the build, yes I have the cowl cover off and I noticed my cowl drained directly into the cab, not the engine bay. Now for the blonde moment….. I replaced my firewall with my body drop, in doing so I forgot to modify the drainage port, it was on the list, but forgot about it till now. No worries a easy fix. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
My 620 would leak too. It was the windshield rubber seal. 1 Quote Link to comment
