Seaway
My driveshaft support bushing is completely shot. Do I just order a new whole part from Rockauto, remove the driveshaft, remove the part and reinstall into the bracket? Is it really that simple? Any tricks or tips I should know? datzenmike
Probably just the rubber part is rotted away. Yeah probably have to get the whole thing to get the part you want. Quote Link to comment
Seaway
Thanks. So does the bushing/support part just fit into the bracket that's bolted to the frame? I am currently in Oregon and about 3000 miles from the truck so I can't look at it. Quote Link to comment
Rjawm
To give you an idea of what it looks like with a new carrier bearing installed, before installation in the truck. This one is for a D21 but they are pretty much identical. The yoke in front of it has a retaining nut that has to be removed, then it can slide off. They usually have to be pressed on and off, so a hydraulic press is usually needed. For reference, this is what it looked like before. Quote Link to comment
Rhino13
If you go through my build thread "720 build, I've got questions" at some point I did my carrier bearing and have a picture of every step. 2 Quote Link to comment
