No. Cylinder head ID is by #1 spark plug. W53, A87, 210, U67, etc.

 

Under spark plug #4, on the block, it will say L16, L18, or L20B.

 

The L18 I have has the filter mounted like yours.

Every L16 or L20B I have ever seen has the filter mounted sideways.

Not the correct head. They only came as an open chamber on the L18 and there were a few closed chamber ones from import engines.

 

Open chamber..... 7.72 compression

Closed chamber... 8.21 compression.

 

No matter what you are loosing compression. Stock compression is 8.58

 

Get rid of the adapter and run the stock length filter. Changing the oil filter must make a bloody mess.
