DatsuNissanLove
Will check tomorrow..so #1 is l16? 1 Quote Link to comment
flatcat19
No. Cylinder head ID is by #1 spark plug. W53, A87, 210, U67, etc. Under spark plug #4, on the block, it will say L16, L18, or L20B. The L18 I have has the filter mounted like yours. Every L16 or L20B I have ever seen has the filter mounted sideways. 1 Quote Link to comment

flatcat19
L16s came with the 210 head here. Some of the imported crate motors came with W53s attached, mostly. Who knows. 40+ years old. Who knows as to whom has done what? Quote Link to comment
Wrench Of Life
Man, I love that color! That's some heavy inspiration right there. Quote Link to comment
DatsuNissanLove
Today was a success.. truck rides better then before.. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not the correct head. They only came as an open chamber on the L18 and there were a few closed chamber ones from import engines. Open chamber..... 7.72 compression Closed chamber... 8.21 compression. No matter what you are loosing compression. Stock compression is 8.58 Get rid of the adapter and run the stock length filter. Changing the oil filter must make a bloody mess. Quote Link to comment
DatsuNissanLove
Ohh..well that suks...no wonder my engine doesn't feel as strong as my bros 521 did.. I guess its time for a swap... oil changes are not bad as a matter.. thanks for the info though.. Quote Link to comment
