So the sun was out and I had a day off..finally lol and got to work cleaning out that gas tank!

This is the nasty stuff I dumped out.

Then since I was already working on some fuel stuff..

Ended up switching out the rubber line from the fuel pump with the hard line

Much better.

 

And last but not least..

All back together and the fuel filter is looking healthy!

It runs better but it's still pretty choppy. So next thing is the carb! Clean clean clean!

Alright allmighty ratsun gods I'm speaking to you! I cleaned out the entire fuel system even ran some sea foam through the carb. (im sure it could still use a rebuild.) and mind you the carb still needs a bit of a tune. But I'm definitely thinking it could be a electrical issue. Like maybe need to ditch the voltage regulator and go internally regulated on the alt. The only reason I say this is that the "ign" light bounces on and off on the dash even while running. And the choppyness of the car running makes me think it Like wants to run good.. But it's spotty.. No misses though, just kind of rough. Also my IGN itself isn't exactly set up the best haha (thanks PO) but finding a good diagram for a 68 proved to be a bit daunting . who knows maybe I've just over looked something.

 

Any help would be appreciated!

Lol thanks KO! I will definitely post one, unfortunately it will have to be tomorrow some time :/ got work in the am... Lame!...

How does that work anyways? Like make a YouTube video then share on ratsun? Like which link? Lol I'm such a n00b

Thanks q tip! And I've already decided since tomorrow is my day off in switching the carbs while the Gf works lol maybe some vids after I get that worked out ;)

 

Draker-- I needed one too! Luckily I bought a whole nother L18 motor that had one! 200$ with a dogleg 5 speed. And weber to boot!(plan c lol) if I come across another I will keep you in mind!

Never uploaded a YouTube video but I'm sure I can figure it out :D good news is ahead though... Hopefully. In the midst of switching over to the electric choked carburetor. Making gaskets ECT. Lol
