Boxcar
Well, I finally got the damn thing done enough to move the thing over here. My idea of an economical expedition rig. Fairly stock ( for now ) low mile 720 Kc 4x4 with 1000lbs of custom built house on the back. 2 Quote Link to comment

Boxcar
Gee , thanks Mike . I don't know what I would do without all your spelling and grammar help. I'd probably just sit around all day perplexed. Wouldn't be able to get any work done or complete a project. Thanks for your massive wisdom and help . I really do appreciate it... Thanks for the comment Middle Man . I love the Portway. Good burgers. I eat lunch there often. My shop is right around the corner . That was her first trip on the truck. Once I get it fitted out the rest of the way I'll acid wash and clean her up. She could use it. The coach came in at 1027.8 lbs dry. 1 Quote Link to comment
84720FourWheel
Does that have dual piston calipers on the front? My truck has a hard time stopping it's own weight, let alone another half ton. Looks like a comfortable camping rig though. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Your attention to detail on your projects is phenomenal. Your grammar and spelling in your posts is not in question and certainly legible to everyone who reads it, so why the are the titles so poorly spelled? I ask because the search function needs proper spelling in order to work properly. Text doesn't matter much as long as understandable but the titles are important. 1 Quote Link to comment
Middle man
Come on Mike. that's selective grammar correction. I've seen much worst on here. Lets enjoy the content.get laid and all enjoy the fuckin accomplishment! 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Not grammar, spelling. I don't care about the text. The grammar is fine and there is worse but as long as it's understandable it doesn't matter much.. but the title is the first thing people see when they come here. 1 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
JUST IN A HURRY I GUESS. If I could edit them I'd fix them for you. No it has single piston calipers . Brand new rotors calipers and ceramic pads as well as new rear drums and shoes/springs and cylinders ( adjusted correctly ) Seems to stop pretty well. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
If you actually care to edit the title of any thread you've started, click the edit button on the first post of the thread. Then click full editor and you can change the thread title. 1 Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
You can edit them but i like them. Glutin and expadition Very nice craftsmanship btw. 1 Quote Link to comment
Middle man
Or you can publicly admonish or just pm the mother fucker, with you're MAJOR concern! Btw,Spelling is part of Grammar. 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Grammar is an agreed upon set or rules, including and excluding, for expressing yourself verbally or written, in your language. It does not specifically include spelling or punctuation any more than it includes breathing while writing. Both are assumed to be used correctly. Spelling is covered under the word ... spelling. Punctuation has it's own definition under the word.. punctuation. Spelling or punctuation are NOT grammar. Look up grammar. There is no mention of spelling or punctuation. So back to the title spelling. I don't correct text spelling, I'm not your mom and if members want to be seen this way in public, so be it. (I often miss key a nearby letter myself) Titles are important tools for the search engine to work with. In addition it's what the public see when perusing through the Ratsun forums. Like it or not first impressions are only made once. So... what do people see or think when the title it misspelled? Do they want to open and read more, or move on? The fact that the rest of the post text and the work shown within is so precise makes me wonder if both these misspelled titles were deliberate. 2 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I was just in a hurry Mike . I wouldn't missssspellll a title just to screw with people. Trust me. I will ( now that I know how ) Thanks Lockleaf. Correct the titles . 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Seriously, thought you were screwing with me with the 2 for 2. What's the total truck weight? Was surprised it was so low for all that went into it. 2 Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I haven't got a wet weight yet . I will probably have that figure and a total cost by next week . As soon as I had this one out of the shop , I role'd another project in and have started that build. Basically the same unit ( slightly larger ) built around a Ford F-250 4x4 SC bobtail chassis. It won't be a slide in camper. Once I get that one done and gone I should have all of the time and parts required to start the mods on the 720. In stock form ( save a few suspension upgrades ) the little bugger seems to handle the camper fine. It will need to be upgraded to bring it to the level I am after though. I'm starting to look into a VG30 transplant / axles / 4 wheel disks / and a T-case conversion. I'd like to have the power and stability to not only haul the camper but tow a 2 quad trailer as well. Here are a few inside pics with good lighting for a change : 3 Quote Link to comment
denmarkboy
Great looking camper & 720 , Do those trucks even come with a sway bar in the rear ? Just curios . Seems like the truck is holding the weight fine . Thanks for sharing the build , there are a couple of guys in my area considering building a campers for their trucks . Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
Can we compromise? Correct and incorrect spellings in title? Parentheses around mispelled word? Otherwise we wouldn't lulz or ask for oics Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I think the Cab/Chassis dual tire had a sway bar but I don't know if it would fit the regular 720 or 4x4. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Vg33 is the same size block and nets a little more power. Planning to use the 4wd vg trans with tx10 transfer case, or use a 2wd vg transmission and a different divorced transfer case? What axles are you thinking? The vg tx10 is a drivers side drop t-case, just as a note. Quote Link to comment

Boxcar
No rear sway bar yet. I have a rear bar from a 1/2 tone chevy that may just be adaptable to the 720 . Haven't taken the time to fit it yet. I don't think the 720 KC 4x4 ever came equipped with one. To the running gear question. I have a super 30 high steer /4:27 gears / OX locker set up for coils and a 44 rear / high pinion / Ox locker / 4:27 gears pre built at 50" width , sitting on the shelf. The T-case I have is a divorced Dana 20 ( short ) with a terra low kit and a Nissan saddle mount . All passenger drop. All were prepped for a project that failed to fly. I like the VG-30 for it's ability to run a carburetor . KISS mentality . BUT .... I have never owned or worked on a VG-30 or had the pleasure of swamping one into the 720. So the research continues... At this point, I haven't firmly decided for or against any power plant other than I'd like to keep it Nissan. Ultimately I want a super 720 KC 4x4 that still looks as close to stock as is possible. No flairs , no sheet metal mods. I should have just built the camper for this 620. . 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
The carb setup will work on vg33 as well, should you decide to investigate that further. 2 Quote Link to comment
thisismatt
Try finding a VG carb distributor before deciding on that route... Quote Link to comment
Boxcar
I wasn't aware that the 30 and 33 shared the same intake. Thanks for the info. The dizzy won't be an issue. I have a line on one . Quote Link to comment
