creampuff
I only ask because I assumed that the wiper arms I bought on Ebay were going to fit my ('79 620) pickup. They ended up coming from overseas to here in Oregon and were for right hand drive (RHD) models only. Is the term Ute a red flag. I now need a blinker/Hi-Lo Beam switch and the part I'm looking at includes the term ute. I'm hoping this is an either/or (universal) type part? Also how to tell if this switch is also going to control my Hi/Lo headlight beams or for turn signal indicators only? Thanks very much! 1 Quote Link to comment
creampuff
What does the term Ute mean? Is it like used in another country? Is it like an Australian term for pick-up truck. I need some parts but they are described for Datsun 620 "Ute". Any help? Thank you! 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Ute is an Australian term that applies both to small trucks and el camino style unibody trucks. 1 Quote Link to comment
creampuff
Lockleaf, Thanks for the Ute description. I suppose only a few Ute parts are Right Hand Drive (RHD) specific, such as my naive/faulty wiper arms purchase. Do you know if a Ute speedometer would be reading miles per hour or metric? Thank you! 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Yes, I believe they use KM in Australia, not mph. Wiper switch will not be something you want rhd likely. Rhd cars mount them on the opposite side of the steering column from Lhd. 1 Quote Link to comment

Draker
Not all Ute's were RHD... but if you are looking for a 620 switch... why not just post up an ad in the classifieds? There are lots of 620's in Oregon. Quote Link to comment
