~1979 Chevy Chevette (Isuzu Gemini) found in the woods. Lost RWD gem.

Recommended Posts

Went to friends house over the weekend and he told me there was a little Chevette thats been in the woods across the street from his house since he was a kid. Decided to go to take a look. Was amazed at how deep this thing was in the mud....

It's a shame that it couldn't be put to use with how straight it is...

That thing has obviously been underwater a few times in it's life.

Underwater? No sir that is just some fine Washington patina, if it stays outside too long here it will be green. My aunt's totaled stratus has been sitting in my parents yard for over a decade with the back window blown out and it looks just like that ont the inside.

Those wheel covers? or mags???

Those would be mags wheels Mike. God lord, that poor car. My dad have two Chevette's, a two and four door. They were good little cars, got us from point A to B and the a/c's in them still worked...tho it took about an hour for it actual cool the dam car down on a summer day.

"Washington Patina" (and the missing back window) explains the green mold growing on the dash, but it doesn't explain the inch plus of mud on the seats and on TOP of the air cleaner.

That's got "Flood Zone" all over it.

Wheels look like Vectors, but there's probably only half of each one left.

my dad was the worlds biggest fan of the chevette I think. He had more of those things than i could count growing up. i remember two specific instances where he made trades for them. once he traded a boat for one, and he also traded my moms VW Scirocco for one. she wasn't too happy about that haha. Ever since he passed away in 2009 I've considered finding a nice one and doing something heinous with the motor, maybe a 427, as a sort of tribute. there were some local guys that used to cram Cadillac 500's into these cars and dirt track them. heres a pic of a 427 in a chevette. 427%20chevette_zps2dtbqodp.jpg
