L18 Clutch/Fly wheel issue

Hey everyone! I am a newbie :D Am currently working on getting my 1981 720 (2wd) back on the road.

PROBLEM:
Clutch has been slipping for a while now, never had a single bad smell/sound from the car ever.
Drop the transmission out and grab the clutch assembly.
The clutch had worn through so much that the springs on the center of the clutch plate have started hitting the bolts of the fly wheel and done a bit of damage to them.
It is a Nissan clutch but doesn't appear to have any damn model number on it for me to grab an aftermarket one.

What clutch will actually fit?

And my flywheel is pretty much now completely flat. :geek:

So I am assuming this is the reason for the springs hitting the bolts.
Is my flywheel supposed to be flat or not?

STATS:

Flywheel:
300 mm total diameter.
225 mm clutch wear diameter.

Model:
720, 1981, L18, 2WD, 4 Speed

Please help!

It should look like this. You have the only 225mm 5 bolt flywheel that was used on truck L18. All other L16/18s were 200mm.

I guess with enough wear the springs will rub the mounting bolts. The bolts are in a depression. A new disc should clear the heads.

The pressure plate is 30210-P0100

The clutch disc is ..... 30100-E4100

These numbers are for our '74 620 with L18 engine. This is a one year only 225mm clutch assy. Have Nissan confirm this will work on your truck.

Wow that's mighty convenient for myself  :crying:
Guess its going to make getting it a touch harder.
My clutch has actually worn into the flywheel a little bit so the clutch disk was essentially embossed into the flywheel so guess I need a new one.
I don't suppose there is any chance that you have the model number for the flywheel as well? And should I just grab a new one or hunt around for a second hand?

P.s: Your a legend

Used should be OK but have it re-surfaced. Any machine shop can skim a few thousandths off to true it up. Or new.

L18 225mm flywheel..... 12310-B7900

Have the dealer confirm these numbers. They are for a N American L18 for a 620 truck 225mm flywheel.

Our N American '74 620s Had them. Only that year came with an L18 on the trucks. Only that year of truck had the 225mm 5 bolt flywheel.

If you can't find one, and as you are changing the flywheel anyway, you could get any L18 car 200mm flywheel. Then get the matching 200mm clutch and disc for it. It's important that you also get the matched 200mm release bearing collar or holder. The release bearings are all the same but the holder is sized to match the 200mm pressure plate. The 225 collar is different.

Hey folks so I went for a wrecker hunt and found 3 old 720's but all of them had just as bad if not worse condition flywheels so I took it in and got it re-machined then bought a clutch kit.
Threw it all together and she is running good as new!
Will update this page if I ever have any issues with it.
