Pez's 620 LWB from AUS

HI Gents, I posted up some pics, before on "Project Datto" but figured here was a better place to have a continued thread as I'm not going "all-out" and just want to continue my time with the 620.

I have been literally dreaming of getting a car that was different from my others, I keep on dreaming of something I could get dirty, or sandy, the dog could sit in, something to go surfing in,and I could fix myself. I have been into Renaultsport cars (you guys unfortunately don't get in the US) for the last 7 or so years, and have enjoyed the speed and driving mountain roads with like minded blokes, but was after something different.

The 620 had lived a life as a farm car, it was picked up and given another life by a couple of owners in the last few years, now me. I purchased the car inter-state and drove for 16 hours in one go, to get home, in 40 deg heat. Hit a wombat, got eaten alive by bugs, but all the price you pay.

The ute has been a lot of fun since I got it, I've learnt a lot already, my son how doesn't like any of my cars, loves this one. The neighbours told me they saw him kissing his girlfriend on the bench seat, whilst in the driveway. I figure it's payed for itself already.

Plans for the 620 are to keep fixing the list of issues that I have, but not to be too worried about them, old car, lots of noises. I would like to keep body looking as is, but have a very detailed engine. Time will tell. I have been working on engine bay, trying to clean 40 years of grease and crap.

My current toy, Renaultsport Megane Cup Trophy 250, a little different to the ute. Poor thing hasn't been getting much love, since the 620.

The 620 has had a lot of attention lately, and some unplanned breakdowns. I have brought another 620 for parts, some have made it onto the 620 others to move on. Brought the other, pretty much for the bench seat, which is lovely, but have transplanted much more than I thought I would. Good way to learn about the car as well

Nope It's definitely Pez's new 620. He's paid the cost to be the boss!  Can't wait to see what you do with it Pez.

Thanks mate, I have done a lot, but don't want to change the patina of truck, love that. I have brought a couple of sets of wheels, which will be fun. Lots of ideas, trying to fix issues before I go into aesthetics, paint, etc

Those are nice but I guess you guys in Aus have more of those than you do actual Datsun trays.

Curious were the flat bed trays installed by the dealers in Aus before delivery to the original owners.

yep fitted by dealers on around 80 percent of the trucks here

HI Guy's, haven't posted in some time. I have been working a lot on the 620 though. Changed a lot of parts, need to list, but I know old Datto's all need a lot of work. Still enjoy playing with it. Need to change the rear gearbox oil seal. Any advice from those who have done it, would be apprceciated.
