FrankRizzo
Those are the ones! If your truck in a '78, you should have the Datsun by Nissan fender badges. . Quote Link to comment
willz
Weird, those are the ones I have/had on it, and I bought the truck from the original owner. He didn't seem like the kind of guy to go put the badges on that didn't belong on the truck Quote Link to comment
willz
If I find the other one, I'll send them to you and you can figure out if they fit or not 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
When I got the truck the sunvisors were in a paper bag in the cab. I set them aside because the truck already had a new black headliner and the beige ones were not a good match. I broke them out this weekend and gave a shot to clean and paint them with SEM Color Coat. I used the SEM Vinyl prep as well and it really cleaned them nicely before painting. The results were great. the SEM stuff is kinda expensive, but works great. 1 Quote Link to comment
sebpv
i like what you did. The PO sprayed the stuff years ago but it now needs to be refreshed. Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
New front shocks and swaybar end links & bushings. It rides even better now! Im assuming these are (were) pinto shocks: I have the tension rod bushings and rear shocks left to do, sitting there is the parts box. . 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
Got a part number for those or what their for? My kyb's are getting bottomed out now 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
W - I assume they were Pinto shocks, ive read here that the Pinto shox were shorter. I already trashed them or i'd look for a number stamped on them...sorry. . 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
Put the rear shocks on, matching Gabriel units, all were on Closeout on Rockauto. the ride keeps getting better. I picked up some 720 door sills at the ER swapmeet last weekend. I cut them down with a my Dremel and a plastic blade, they fit pretty good. I ordered some more SEM stuff - plastic adhesion promoter and flat black paint, hopefully it comes in this week so I cee how it looks. Top - Stock 720 sills Middle - 620 Aluminum sills Bottom - Modified 720 sills 2 Quote Link to comment
willz
The new Gabriel shocks are for a pinto correct? 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
no, the Gabriels are for a 620, the blue ones were probably a Pinto shock. . 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
are the torsion bars still re-indexed or did you move them back? 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
are the torsion bars still re-indexed or did you move them back? I just adjusted the bolts and did not re-index them. I thought if you were going lower than 3" you would re index? . 1 Quote Link to comment
willz
I'm not sure what the rule of thumb is, I finally got around to doing mine. I originally cranked mine down 6 years ago or something and forgot about re-indexing them. This whole time I thought I had, and finally got around to doing it last week or something. I'm interested to see if there's a noticeable ride quality difference. I'm sure I'll notice some difference as all the ball joints/tie rods/idler arm and all the bushings have been replaced and haven't been driven on. I do remember the ride being somewhat painful... 1 Quote Link to comment

Re-indexing is going to lower the front 3 inches, if you adjust by one tooth that is. Re-indexing is going to keep the spring rate that it would have if it was stock height, and won't be bottoming out like a torqued down truck. Re-indexing is just the better route. Torquing down can also cause extra strain on old bushings as well. 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
Sills primed, painted and installed. Hard to take a good pic in the garage with the black on black on black, but I like it a lot more than the dinged up factory sills.. . 5 Quote Link to comment

FrankRizzo
Installed new Hella compact horns behind the grille. The old factory horns were in the way of my intake and weren't too loud - and under the hood - they lost a lot of what ever volume was left. These things are loud (box says 110 db) and most of the sound gets out now. The PO already rewired them with a relay, so all I needed was the horns. I think these were about $18 on Amazon. They work great. 2 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
New tires & wheels today. :w00t: Raceline 15x6 zero offset wheels with Goodyear Eagle RS-A 195/60 - 15 tires. The ride is soooo much better now. The Blazer wheels were 27 (twenty-seven) pounds EACH!!! :crying: . The new wheels are 17 pounds. With such a large decrease in unsprung weight the truck is so much more responsive now...and it's almost like I have power steering. I can "one hand" the steering wheel. I wanted to get 205/60's but there were no good tires (IMHO) in that size. 5 Quote Link to comment
mcordero8
Truck looks bitchin. I like everything about this truck. 1 Quote Link to comment
FrankRizzo
New Momo "Retro" steering wheel. It's a 14 inch. I found a NOS vintage Momo/Datsun horn button on the Bay a couple of months ago and snagged it and have had it in my drawer ready to install. Door sills and wheel. The painted sills kinda scratch easy. I can see keeping a black marker in the glove box... gratuitous unneeded pics: B) 3 Quote Link to comment
