I got the carpet finished this weekend. Installed my new Lokar shifter boot, I went with the white cue ball shift knob (but I saved my old Ratsun knob). Wired up the sub/amp and secured it.

Got the speakers installed in the refinished kick panels, but I wont be able to test any audio stuff until next weekend.

Reinstalled the seats and finished up the console and gave it a test fit.

I custom ordered new seat belts and they should be here (hopefully) this week.

Next on my list is to fix the parking brake to work with the rear disks. Using the SEARCH function works well and found (as usual) someone has already blazed the trail:

After studying the pics, I noticed my PO did not install the cable guide brackets to hold the brake cable on the rear calipers. No problem...order new calipers from RockAuto that have the brackets and return the old ones that dont have the brackets for core credit...

Eh. I guess people do this all the time and they are wise.

That is a $62 bracket (each) right there folks..

I finished up wiring stuff today.

Got all the new wires wrapped and secured under the hood.

Got the tweeters installed and wired to the crossovers. I mounted them in 1 1/4 PVC caps made for furniture. I sprayed them with truck bedliner, and mounted them with simple angle brackets to one of the exiting rivet holes in the kick panels.

Also finished up the console and got it secured:

It lines up perfect and the correct height where you can rest your arm on it while your hand is on the ballz...

The sub with the built in 2x75w amp works pretty good. I streamed via BT to the head unit and it is pretty clean and loud. The amp has a built in crossover and I think it is set around 100hz and below to the sub...it keeps the really low stuff out of the front speakers, and it has a subsonic filter to keep from wasting energy reproducing unneeded sound. I think it is set around 35hz. With the pots on the side of the amp, all the setting are kind of +/- whoever silk screed the numbers on the chassis. I dusted the Pyles with black spray paint to tone down the yellow color. Im really glad I opted for the amp combo, it makes the front speakers sound pretty good.

The sub obviously does not hit like a couple of 10's or a 12, but it sure helps fill in the lows. In the small reg. cab 620, it will vibrate the rear view mirror and makes it fun to crank it up. All in all- this was a budget stereo considering what some people spend and everything fit cleanly with no cutting or hacking and t idoes not draw a lot of attention. For me it is more than adequate and it sounds great. I have a stereo system in my office that cost the equivalent of a small used Honda, so I have a pretty good basis for comparison.

Thanks you guys ^

My seat belts came in and I was anxious to see what they looked like...I did a quick test fit on the Driver's side

Back story:

When I ordered my Challenger, there was an $85 option called "red seat belts". I was originally against it - but my wife talked me into it saying it looks like a red tie on a black suit - or something like that. This is how it looks:

Ive really grown to like it, so when I ordered my new belts for the 620 I tried to duplicate it.

Aviation style buckles:

Custom ordered from seat belt planet .com, yet another tip found whilst scouring this forum. Red webbing with black plastics and brushed aviation buckle. The lap belt is held in with this weird bracket instead of having a separate mount and they knew all about it. I'll get them mounted permanently in the next couple of weeks.

Wow looks great! Can you show how it's mounted? Seems a little loose.

Its installed temporarily just so I could see how they look. I have not removed any of the belt retainers yet - have to wait until they are bolted in, then I can spool in all of the loose belt. They fit perfectly in the factory mounting holes though.

i see a problem with the way the belt leaves the buckle. Does it bend weirdly towards the top or is there something preventing this that I cant see?

They are in there temporarily only. the buckle side is not even bolted in - I just tossed it in between the seat and console.

i dont think we understand each other. im referring to the fact that I see a 3 point setup with a 2 point lap belt setup... The shoulder strap connects weirdly to the buckle. It is meant like that or are you trying to make it work?

EDIT: actually nevermind. I think i just cant see how it should look once strapped in

Did the brakes today also...

As luck would have it, the left side rear caliper was jacked up and the parking brake function did not operate. Well ... I had "extra" calipers (see above) - so I swapped it out. I dont think this caliper was working at full strength.

Then I changed out the stock 3/4" master cylinder for a new Arizona Z car 15/16" and yanked the PO's SSBC proportioning valve. I used my trusty Motive power bleeder with the Datsun adaptor and purged all the old fluid with new Dot 3/4 stuff.

Im impressed how well the brakes work now. I thought it would be better, but not this much better. Reminds me of my Dad's old 914 Porsche with 4 wheel disks. Pedal feel is great and the feedback is perfect.

Next week im going to tackle the parking brake. I have all the cables and brackets now, so im determined! It would be nice not to have to chock the wheels...

Does anyone know what that vacuum line thingy is below the M/C? One port is capped and the other one isnt. I did not have time to trace it out.

to mount the shoulder belt part. My truck has nothing but the hole there.
