85Nissan7204x4
Hi i have a 1985 nissan 720 i been fixing and im doing a lift kit. When i removed the lower control arm the hole in the frame where the metal sleeve and bushings go looks to be eaten away from previous owner not changing them. content://media/external/file/43982. Is the hole in the frame suppose to have the metal sleeve fit tight? Im just trying to figure out if the hole got eaten away and if i need to have it welded. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
If you are talking about the rear bushing of the front lower control arm, yes it is often pounded out and should be repaired if you can. I repair them by taking two of the giant washers from the bushings and welding one of them to either side of the frame bracket. That being said, I have simply replaced the bushings and ignored the oblonged hole before. Not optimal, but the improvement was still huge. Quote Link to comment
85Nissan7204x4
this is a picture of it. Does the hole look too big for the sleeve. Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
Can't tell from that pic. But it should be simple. If it's still a circle, there isn't much damage. If it's egg shaped or oval, then it needs repair. 1 Quote Link to comment

Lockleaf
I buy mine from oreilly with no difficulty. Also, see rockauto.com Look for "strut rod bushings" Quote Link to comment
