fredges
Yeah, yeah, it's not "vintage" or "period correct", but it was free, it works, and I can put my snow/skateboards in it. oics now! I want to dip the gutter grips in that rubberized paint stuff, and steel wool it and repaint all the black bits. It'll do until I can find a proper rack that I can afford. 3 Quote Link to comment

Mattndew76
Figure out how to make it go on the bed cover. No more wonky just cool. 1 Quote Link to comment
fredges
hmmmm... the idea has merit! Not sure how the gutter clamp would fit... but... I'll look into that! I'm pretty sure they will span the bed, as they have a good bit of adjustment to them... *Edit: it's a soft vinyl cover, with a very light frame underneath. 1 Quote Link to comment

fritzdixxon
Figure out how to make it go on the bed cover. No more wonky just cool. And set it up across the back of the cover so the boards can act as a spoiler lol 1 Quote Link to comment
4perrev
Good looking truck! For a skate board, I might just throw it in the bed, unless you need to dry out the wheels!!! 1 Quote Link to comment
fredges
@4perrev: Yeah, good point. I wouldn't leave the board up there, just temporary if I was taking it someplace and didn't have room in the bed, or want quick on/off access. Both my boards are cheap anyway! :D I'm spending all my money on the truck! 2 Quote Link to comment
4perrev
With ya there. Skates back in the 80's were expensive. Can't image now!! Nice rack though cause it gives you something to work with. 1 Quote Link to comment
fredges
It's a Bahne board, and the snowboard's a Morrow. But they both work great for my slow, old ass. Besides, if anyone "rips my stick" (as the Surf Punks sang) I'm not out major coin. I'm thinking I could modify it to have a basket of some kind to put old luggage, a cooler, a thermos, vintage gas cans, etc..... 1 Quote Link to comment
4perrev
Sh!t ya. The are tons of antique stores in snohomish that you can get old stuff from. Heck, I picked up an old gas can and an old kerosene can the other day. For cheap! 1 Quote Link to comment
Steve240z
Truck looks great! The rack looks like a "Barrecrafters" might be wonky, or not vintage, but for sure it is period correct. They looked just like that in the 70's  1 Quote Link to comment
fredges
Yes, it says "Barrecrafters" on it. It's in good shape. The rubber is good, though the bits where it touches the truck need work. 1 Quote Link to comment
Osoi
I hate you for your steering wheel alone. Nicely done. A little flashy, but not in a bad way. Quote Link to comment
fredges
Thanks Osoi, I think! Yeah I can't wait to clean it up and fix up the rubber "feet". Don't want any scratches! Quote Link to comment
4perrev
Looking at your pictures again. Is that a crack in the front glass? If so, let me know as I had to buy a new one. Not cheap, but good quality. Oh look....My 521st post!! Milestone. Quote Link to comment
