After 3 years of searching I finally found a near mint tailgate to complete my girl!  After some slight sanding to get of a little surface rust I was able to get a close match to the paint, but it sure ties it together!

On a side note...in my travels I have found 2 other tailgates.  One is mint and the other is banged up but all parts are there.   Both are located in Washington.  If anyone is interested I an let you know where they are located..

Find them in wrecking yards, back yards, craigslist. Buy a whole truck for parts so you have spares. NOS is New Old Stock that which has never been sold let alone installed and used. After 45 years there won't be any.

If available i would like info on the 521 tailgates. Im in Kirkland. Glad to see another back together. Getting there with mine. Need good NOS store for certain items. Any suggestions?

http://www.new-datsun-parts.com/has some NOS stuff.  I have bought from him and had no problems.  Also, makethemovetodatsun on ebay has many NOS parts.  I've also purchased from him on a few occasions - both through ebay and off ebay.  Both are retail priced - don't expect any great bargains, but you gotta pay for the NOS stuff most of the time, as you won't generally find it elsewhere.  I've also bought stuff from overseas (Thailand, Malaysia, and New Zealand) and that can be a crapshoot.  Mostly I've had good luck, but did have to go through a paypal dispute not too long ago for misrepresented parts.

I was lucky to find an essentially new 521 tailgate that was taken off for a camper in the early 70s and stored ever since
