Nedleyb
I have just began a resto on a datsun 620 and basically need the entire front end. I lucked up and a fellow member is parting out one. My question is have any of you ever had any experience shipping large items such as hoods, grills, valance, and fender cross country and what did you use? Quote Link to comment
bilzbobaggins
use the big gray dog. Cheap but not sure if anything is insured. Quote Link to comment
Jester
You can also go to your local Fastenal and they ship store to store for a pretty reasonable price. 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
He means greyhound bus. They really are the best way to ship cheap, but you have to get to a hub/stop to pick up and send, so they aren't the most convenient. Quote Link to comment

Jester
I hadn't either. I heard about it on earlycj5 dot com. Quote Link to comment

distributorguy
UPS is also affordable for large items if and only if you go directly to UPS, not a reseller like the UPS Store, or other retail spaces. If you are buying parts, let the seller figure out shipping. A new Valance with shipping from Rockauto is like $35. Shipping a hood figure $75. 2 fenders stacked and boxed $45? Quote Link to comment
Nedleyb
Thank for input unfortunately the seller flaked anD sold the parts from under me so I'm back to start on finding these parts. I am in Louisiana and these trucks never were as popular around here so junkyards are a loss cause and eBay only has so much. If anybody has and sources or connections with any spare 620 parts hit me up. I know I can get aftermarket grill, valance, and hood. What I'm having problems with finding or having somebody that will actually ship said item is a passenger fender and front bumper with brackets. Hopefully somebody here has some helpful info. Thanks. Jester
Talk to Ted, aka, Tdaaj. Send him a PM here on Ratsun. He will ship whatever you are willing to pay for. Quote Link to comment

Jester
Not a problem. If he has the parts, he will ship. Quote Link to comment
