Question: Please identify what car this trans belongs to.

60 casting mark on side.  60 series I assume.

#2 casting mark also on side which I believe indicates 'dogleg' shift pattern

Drain plug faces rearward

18 teeth on splines

Shifter:  'B' type secured with solid cross pin

Serial # stamped on top of bell housing: 6D  (inverted 7) 46411

Thanks,

Cheers

Probably a 60 series usually used on the A series engines during the 70s early '80s. The #2 is a casting revision or just a way to identify what mold was used.

There were three 60 series transmissions (at least)

F4W60L 4 speed. Used in '74 and up B-210s and all 210s depending on engine.

FS5W60L 5 speed dogleg shift pattern. Used only on the 210 through the '79 model year.

FS5W60A 5 speed regular H shift pattern. Used only on the 210 from '80 model year on.

Below FS5W60A downward pointing oil drain bung just behind the adapter plate.

Above FS5W60L dogleg with rear facing oil drain. NOTE the large nut on bottom right side marked with a white arrow. Only doglegs have this bottom nut regardless of the oil drain.

4 and 5 speed differences

F4W60L below. Note four speed also has rear oil drain. Note thinner between the yellow lines.

FS5W60L dogleg above. Note the longer fuller section between yellow lines to make room for the 5th gear. White arrow points to nut making this a dogleg shift pattern.

Thanks very much for the info.

Did the 210 come with a 5-speed trans?

A Spridget person is looking for a 210 trans with F, FL, FA, FX in the S/N.

My S/N is totally different as stated earlier, but it is acceptable by conversion kit manufacturers.

Cheers,

Craig
