datzenmike
The coil is a total unknown. Can you put this back to the stock set up? With a stock points coil, and ballast resistor??? What has no compression? Why is the alternator on the driver's side? Quote Link to comment
logiccreations
The engine Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Maybe we should get the ignition working first. Can you put the original points coil and ballast resistor back on??? 1 Quote Link to comment
logiccreations
I did a compression test and I have no compression Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Yeah and the door might be stuck too but it doesn't help the ignition problem. 1 Quote Link to comment

KoHeartsGPA
You think I'm trolling you? No, I think you're trolling Mike.....he's gone through great lengths to get your issue resolved and now you claim that you don't have compression when previously you stated that you rebuilt the damn thing.... KoHeartsGPA
Follow Mike's lead, fix the spark issue them move on to compression issue...no compression isn't clicking with me, might be bad gauge.....possibly. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
it has no compression in cylinder 1,2,3, and 90 in 4... i put a little oil in the cylinder to see if it was the rings and it came out the same.. it was -20 when it stopped working You can only have zero compression if there are holes in the pistons, the valves are not closing, the compression tester is fucked up or it was done wrong. I suggested checking the valve lash ..... no reply. Asked why the alternator is on the driver's side... no reply Obviously it's been messed with. Non ballast coil, alternator moved, who knows what else was done to it. Asked if you could put the original points coil and ballast on to get it back to stock... no reply the gap is fine and i just loosed the oil pump and wiggled it till it started spinning. This is, well it's impossible. You think I'm trolling you? Sell the engine to someone for $50 and put that 2.8 in it. 1 Quote Link to comment
logiccreations
It's a gm one wire alternator that we made for were the smog pump was, I no longer have the original points coil or ballast, and like I said my first time doing any major engine repairs so it is very posible I messed something up, as for the distributor thing that's what I did mabey it got fixed when I took the crank bolt out. INDY510
take the dizzy cap off ... does the rotor spin freely?? ... some dizzys and pedestals are different lengths for L16/L18/L20 ... the rotor shouldn't spin if the motor isn't spinning. Quote Link to comment
