Can they be reused? I got one from Frank, he was going to toss it, but I heard they are reusable so I had to save it :D Maybe they just drop the compression with another gasket....

Rebuilt an L18 for my 521 back in the '70s. Could not afford rod bearings so pulled the ones out of my junked '68 510. At least the '68 ones hadn't quite gone all the way through the babbitt into the copper backing material like the truck ones had. Only had to work for six months till I got an L20B. Talk about used!!!

And are 0.32" thick. Or any thickness you want. Could not find the post on (nwde, shhh!) but remember them. If you were removing the head often they would pay for themselves after a few times. 'O' rings and turbos, oh my!.

You got it. Yes they can be re-used. A lot of guys say they leak but you nailed it in the second or third post. The guys that say they leak dont take the time to re-torque them which is a must. These gaskets were the ones of choice for the turbo and supercharger guys before the MLS gaskets. I used a spray on copper gasket maker and gave it 4 or 5 coats before installing it to help seal the h2o passages as reccomended by my engine machinist.
