towing an Automatic 620

Hello good morning, I have been reading on how to tow vehicles with automatic transmissions and i have found out that people take the drive-shaft off when towing vehicles with automatic transmissions, but i was wondering (since i'm going to be picking up a 1978 Datsun 620 this weekend). Can i just take off the rear drive shaft that goes from the differential to the carrier bearing, and just leave the front half that goes into the transmission so no fluid will leak out?

Thanks. Erick :)

Technically you don't even need to remove anything, just disconnect it. When I am doing this, I disconnect the driveshaft from the diff and push the drive shaft off to one side and tie it out of the way. That's it.
