dscottdatsun
What are the advantages, if any, of replacing the pilot bushing w/ a roller bearing in the crank? Quote Link to comment
Rick-rat
None that I know of, regular bushing probably easier to remove if the need comes up Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
None. The sintered bronze pilot is porous and has been soaked in oil to permanently lube it. They are not known for failures. Replace them every time the engine is removed. They are only $3-$5. I don't know how a roller bearing is lubed. Perhaps it's a racing thing that is replaced regularly. Quote Link to comment
dscottdatsun
Where to find the part number for the pilot bushing? Quote Link to comment
scooter
If you put your Tranny back on all rammy like it's a lot easier to damage the needle bearing types, I've seen them get quite munged up, I prefer the brass bushing type myself Quote Link to comment
