Rhapakatui
Follow the ignition wires back as far as you can! Your wiring looks pretty clean There must be something obvious we are missing When I first looked at the pics I thought the problem must be that he's low on cob webs and black widows. I flipped the switch and tried still got sparks Did you sort out the starter turning over when you hook up the battery? What was that about? Quote Link to comment

ericsb210
Every time you hook up the battery, I bet your conditions worsens. Is it possible to pick up a donor wiring harness from someone here on Ratsun? I am thinking that might be your best bet. Easy to do, also. Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
I'm not sure it worsens it just does the exact same thing every time Quote Link to comment
Emilio's79620
I'm having a friend who's a mechanic come over tonight to peep I'll let you know what he tells me like I said I'm decent with mechanical but not electrical 1 Quote Link to comment
ericsb210
Na, the condition of your wires are going south. Quote Link to comment
Draker
Get a meter, do a parasitic draw test.. that will isolate the issue. Then you know where to go look. 2 Quote Link to comment
67411sss
back up a minute... did the thieves ruin the ignition when stealing the truck? if so then they had no need to fuck with the wiring! double check you have the right ignition... please 3 Quote Link to comment
ericsb210
At this point I am concerned for your safety. These old systems should not be monkeyed with. If any external accessories or stereo is to be added, the proper relays and fusible lines must be used. An under dash fire is not fun. I would be very surprised if a thief took the time to change out the ignition system. 1 Quote Link to comment
Rhapakatui
Maybe I misunderstood. Emilio, your truck tries to crank with the ignition switch disconnected completely when you hook up the battery. Correct? Quote Link to comment
