maximumunicorn
Hi folks. I only learned about this forum maybe a week ago when this truck popped up on (relatively) local craigslist. Someone had performed the physical swap, then the next owner made it another chunk of the way. Still doesn't run. I picked it up yesterday with a friend of mine and I'm hoping to finish it up and take it out on the road. A picture, because I understand the frustration when there aren't any: I've got all the fixin's on the way for a new fuel system and a couple odds and ends to complete the turbo setup. At least to a point where we can try to get it to run. The first owner definitely made some very strange decisions and it'll be a long process (especially since I'll only be able to put in a couple nights a week), but I'm real happy with the truck and I look forward to sharing and absorbing knowledge with the Ratsun community. And yeah, more pictures to come. If you want to see anything specific let me know and I'll try to grab a shot. That's all for now! 1 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
Welcome to Ratsun Bob? Bill? Brian??? Very nice first post and introduction. I wish all new members did the same. Nice bullet side, and from Vermont? the salt belt. Looking forward to your next post about this truck, maybe a thread of it's own in Project Datto? Quote Link to comment
UnderControl
Nice. Interested to see under the hood and specifically the manifold/turbo configuration. In the process of a KADE swap now, built with the intention of T next year. Quote Link to comment
maximumunicorn
Haha. Brendan. I picked up the truck in Maine. Not sure where it was before that; I've still got some research to do. I guess a build thread would be good. If nothing else it'd be a nice place to keep notes and goals as the project moves forward. I'll try to grab a picture of the manifold/turbo this evening, but with the caveat that the original owner made some strange decisions. Like welding the turbo directly to the manifold. "So it won't leak," he said. Quote Link to comment
UnderControl
Well that is certainly one way to do it. Good luck with the build, hopefully that guy din't make too many decisions during the swap. Quote Link to comment
maximumunicorn
Alright, build thread started here. That's the thread I'll be looking at and updating with information/questions. Thanks all! Quote Link to comment
