thank you^ no im not wanting to get people to look at me first gear in my car is pretty short and i don't wanna blow my motor leaving the line when at the track thank you very much if i had longer gears i wouldn't need one but since they're short and i like the way they're set i thought might as well look into one just so i don't blow anything up

Modified??? Does it have custom rods and bolts? These would allow you to safely rev higher.

Use tach, shift at 6-6.5K you should be ok all day. I used to shift my 340 just by the sound. It had a tach but taking off in first there's too much going on to be watching it like a hawk.

its got rods that are like 50,000th of an inch bigger i think ill have to check my papers but i just want one as a safety net cause the cars a rocket off the line and if i ever fuck up or miss a shift and the thing revs as high as i can thats not good haha but ive never ran a rev limiter before so just wanted to know what people thought of them and if they have any recommendations

Have faith in yourself. Not every take off is going to be like the drags. Engines with a solid bottom end seldom blow from a quick over rev. Like sex... practice, practice, practice, don't get too excited, relax and enjoy yourself.
