heywier427
Part #'s 1 & 2 http://www.carpartsmanual.com/datsun510/Datsun510Index/Axle/FrontAxleSuspension/tabid/780/Default.aspx Right now I just have the grease seal & wheel bearing (parts 30 &28). The grease seal slides over the step in the axel stub tightly, but I just don't see parts 1 or 2 when I disassembled. Just don't want to put it back together missing stuff if it should be there. Looks like this: Could it be like a backing plate for the bearing (like part #35) and the o-ring is there to provide a bit of resistance? Thanks. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
1/ front spindle collar... 40018-21000 and later number 40018-A0800 on the 510 spindle. 2/ O ring collar.............. 40019-21000... .....used on B-210 up to '75, all 610s and 710s. However... I just swapped a spare 710 wheel bearing and I also did not see either of these two. The hub slid off with the rear bearing inside. I cleaned the spindle and don't remember seeing either. 1 Quote Link to comment
KELMO
They used a collar on one of the trucks....it was real common for the collar to come off with the bearing and get thrown away with the bearing. Don't ask me what trucks, I can't remember cuz 30 years ago. Quote Link to comment
