Being the same colour as the VW beetle would make sense as they were produced on the same factory line in Australia at the same time, only recently I saw a photo of both the 1600 and beetle being assembled at the same time.

Engine bay has been clear coated.

 

Some Oics of a little bit of work.

 

Much degreasing going on with original front end.

 

Need to register the car as stock standard as possible, otherwise, due to our Nanny State laws, much grief will follow.

 

Of course, good stuff will be bolted in once car is passed for registration :)

Nice 4door, who did you get your rat and wrench sticker from? I need to get some of those.

That sucks. When I did my wagon, I did it the same way you are. It wasn't till I was done that someone told me to break them turning them in. It made sence to me.

At the time I did not think of this and broke a couple myself on a sedan I took all apart.

Having been mildly shamed by Draker (thanks dude), momentum has kinda recommenced on my dime.

 

Bought the wheels for the trolley i want to bolt the body to so I can wheel it in and out of my garage to work on today.

 

Doors are off and out of the way.

 

Started cleaning the mountain of shite ive been storing on (and in) the shell off it.

 

Baby steps occuring.

 

720 should be registered next week and then conversion kit for V6 transplant will be ordered.
