q-tip
Chemical dip on the copper on the box? Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Chemical dip on the copper on the box? Quick once over in the bead blast cabinet. Glass microspheres get rid of all the crap and you end up with the above result. Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Engine bay has been clear coated. Some Oics of a little bit of work. Much degreasing going on with original front end. Need to register the car as stock standard as possible, otherwise, due to our Nanny State laws, much grief will follow. Of course, good stuff will be bolted in once car is passed for registration :) 6 Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
I though in aus, the wrenches go above the rat? One does not! Mess with the Ratsun logo. Honoured to have it on this car. 3 Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
Not happy with some pieces (control arms) so, stripped again and repainted. Standard caster rods prettied up and fitted. Will be replaced with adjustable items when registration headaches are finished. Standard struts and rotors cleaned up, quick coat of paint and into the car. These also will be replaced with bigger brake setup after car is registered. 2 Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Different shoes. Not overly liking them though they do have near newish tyres on them.. Digging through the multiple spare parts repositories and found one set of bar brackets. Into the derust solution for a quick soak and today will see them bead blasted, etch primed and then painted. Speaking of bead blast cabinet, started cleaning out some parts that have been sitting in it for a while. Some very good door hinges cleaned up and etch primed. Will be put away in the treasure section for use another day. 4 Quote Link to comment
Ratwagon1600
Enough room made in the shed to fit the car back in. Wiper cowl painted same colour as the wheels. Not sure if its going to look like pooh when the whole car is back together, but, mehhh Starting to clean up the rear taillight panel for the rust repairs. Bumper bar brackets etch primed. Rattle pack black goodness will be applied today. 2 Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
This is really creepy. So I post an Oic last night of the wiper cowl. When I was fitting it I thought gee it would be nice if I had a pair of the rubber grommets to cover the pivot points, ill order some in a few days. Short time ago I bead blast the wiper arms and post an update Oic. I swear, not five minutes later Ive walked back in to the shed and looked at one of my shelves and thought, what shit is hiding behind the circular saw and other crap Ive shoved up there, and, this is what I find! Thank you Datsun gods! 2 Quote Link to comment

Had a day off work today so, did some stuff in between writing a job application and taking the daughter to the dentist. Im kinda like a Ninja on this project, i'll sneek in and do a quick bit of work, then hurry off to do something else. Quote Link to comment

Ratwagon1600
Going to go with a downdraft Weber initially. This turned up in the post yesterday. And cause I like stuff clean and shiny, into the bead blaster and ultrasonic cleaner it goes. 2 Quote Link to comment
