Correct, the show is all fabbed up and dramatized. But the races on 1320 are the real deal, they all seem like cool dudes off the show and have some pretty damn fast cars

1.3 liter isn't exactly right for comparing a rotary to a 4 stroke. It's like a 100cc 4 stroke vs, a 100cc 2 stroke. In this case a 2 stroke uses the displacement on every turn and the 4 stroke only once every two turns.  A 1.3 liter rotary is (somewhat) comparable to a 2.3 liter 4 stroke. It's really apples and oranges.
