Hey all,

First post here..... I bought a '68 520 truck today. This one had been restored mechanically but needs some work for completion.

Here are some photos (google photo links-  hopefully they work)

I'm planning on tidying her up and putting on a timber tray.

Anyway you'll be seeing more of me on here!

Cheers,

Tim

Hi Tim and welcome to Ratsun. A timber tray... yes. My 620 came with one which I rebuilt out of cedar so it wouldn't rot (rust) We call the back of trucks boxes or beds and a timber tray would be a flat bed. Interesting terms for the same thing... a rose by any other name, right?. In the past I drove a '72 521 for about 8 years so I have a huge respect for the 520/521.

That must be an early '68 with the front turn signals pointing straight forward. I also have a '68 ,but it is a late build with the turn signals more on the bottom corners.

The pictures provided look like a '67 or older L520.

The corner ones were used through April '68 and Canadian ones were white. The forward facing ones are from May '68 on and also at this time (I believe) the truck became an L521. A sort of 'half year model'.

This doesn't change the fact that they are forward facing and appear to be on the wrong year truck body.
